Welcome to my website! I am Luchi, a Ph.D. candidate in Strategy & Entrepreneurship department at the London Business School and a candidate in the 2025-2026 job market.

My research lies at the intersection of strategic human capital, organization design and personnel economics. I focus on how organizational design choices (e.g., incentive systems, task assignments, promotion ladder and the integration of algorithms) influence employee productivity, particularly during critical periods of motivation and skill development. Such periods include: (1) when employees first join an organization or (2) when they face significant organizational changes (e.g., restructuring and M&A). Employees adapting to these new environments are especially susceptible to external influences, making organizational design decisions particularly impactful.

My dissertation draws on in-depth interviews and quantitative analysis using rich proprietary archival data (10 million restaurant transaction records) from a multi-store restaurant chain operating across the U.S. and Canada to investigate the effect of various organization design choices in shaping employee skills, motivation and long-term productivity. In addition to the hospitality industry, my research also extends to empirical settings such as the retail and technology industries.

Other than research, I have work experience in restaurants and am an enthusiastic cook taking culinary courses.
